About the blog...

I started this blog because, well, why not?  The more you read this blog, you will find that I am always keeping myself busy with something.  I really love taking photos (I am a self-taught amateur photographer, to say the least, so be nice!) and ever since I took a graphic design course in undergrad, my soft spot for it has never gone away.

If things go according to plan, this blog will focus on the journey of making our house a home... decorating, DIY projects, organizing, changing out decor for holidays and seasons, and the challenges I face with storage space (and lack there of).  There may be a funny story, recipe, or design inspiration post mixed in there.  Hopefully you can learn a thing or two or at least get a good laugh while you're here.

About our house...

At first I thought I would put some links up to Zillow or whatnot, ya know, since this blog is about our house. Then I thought, wait, that's creepy. There are creepy people out there, and that is not a door I want to open (figuratively or literally).

So, I will just give you a few facts:

We purchased our first home in January of 2012.
We live in O'Fallon, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.
Our house is 1,075 square feet and doesn't have a basement. For people in Missouri, this is a big deal. This will also be a recurring theme on the blog (read: lack of storage space).
We have a good sized backyard that is flat - great for the dogs to run around and trample my plants *sigh*
We have an herb and vegetable garden in our backyard.
My husband is smart and handy, but we are by no means contractors. We have had our share of successful projects, and well, other projects too.
